AFIT ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered fitness and nutrition coaching app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using AFIT you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account details: email address and password (stored securely via Supabase).
- Fitness profile: age, gender, weight, training goals, experience level, injuries, and dietary preferences — entered during onboarding or in settings.
- Workout logs and nutrition entries you record in the app.
- Messages you send to the AI coach.
Health & activity data (optional, on-device only):
- If you grant permission, AFIT reads step count, heart rate, sleep duration, and calorie data from Android Health Connect.
- This data is read directly from Health Connect on your device. It is used only to personalise your dashboard and AI coaching insights. It is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.
- You can revoke this permission at any time via Android Settings > Apps > AFIT > Permissions, or via the Health Connect app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the service: generate personalised training programmes, track workouts, log meals, and deliver AI coaching responses.
- To power AI features: your fitness profile and questions are sent to an AI language model (Groq / Llama) via a secure server-side proxy. Your data is used solely to generate your response and is not stored by Groq for training purposes under their API terms.
- To improve the app: we may review aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features. We do not sell or share individual user data.
- To send transactional emails: account confirmation, password reset (via Supabase Auth).
3. Data Storage & Security
- Your account and fitness data are stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database with row-level security. Only you can access your own data.
- Passwords are never stored in plain text — Supabase uses bcrypt hashing.
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
- AI requests are routed through a server-side proxy — your Groq API key is never exposed to the client or your device.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers strictly to operate the app:
- Supabase (supabase.com) — authentication and database hosting.
- Groq (groq.com) — AI language model inference. Only the content of your AI coaching requests is transmitted; no personally identifiable account information is sent.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. Health Data (Android Health Connect)
AFIT complies with the Android Health Connect Permissions Policy. Specifically:
- Health Connect data is accessed only with your explicit permission.
- We read steps, heart rate, sleep, and active calories solely to display them on your dashboard and to inform AI coaching.
- We do not upload Health Connect data to any server.
- We do not share Health Connect data with any third party, including advertisers.
- We do not use Health Connect data for advertising purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
AFIT is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & export: you can view all data you have entered in the app at any time.
- Delete account: contact us at u55d55@gmail.com to request full deletion of your account and associated data. We will action this within 30 days.
- Health permissions: revoke at any time via Android Settings without affecting other app functionality.
- Marketing emails: we do not send marketing emails. All emails are transactional (account-related only).
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will delete your account and all associated personal data within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you via the app or email before the changes take effect.
